Friday, July 29, 9-noon, join world famous mycologist and author Greg Marley in a tour of HVNC. Greg has for decades been teaching about the many mushroom species right in our backyards in Maine that are delicious to eat and may confer a number of health benefits. If there's a champion for fungus, it's Marley, named one of three finalists for its annual Cookbook Award by International Association of Culinary Professionals in the culinary history category. Hidden Valley Nature Center, located in Jefferson, is a non-profit, member based, community supported organization with 800 acres of diverse habitat, many small ponds and vernal pools, miles of trails, and a range of low-impact sustainable forestry projects both completed and underway.
